Frequently Asked Questions

  • Physiotherapists are movement experts! Physiotherapy can help you reduce pain, move better and promote healing naturally. Whether you've sprained your ankle, pulled a muscle, or just want to improve your flexibility and strength, the right exercises and techniques are tailored to your unique needs. Not to mention, you'll learn tips to prevent future injuries like strengthening exercises or maintaining good posture.

  • An orthopedic injury is an injury to the musculoskeletal system, which includes the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Orthopedic injuries can include a wide range of conditions, such as fractures, dislocations, sprains, strains, and tears. These injuries can occur in any part of the body. Some examples of orthopedic injuries include a broken arm from a fall, a sprained ankle from a sports injury, a rotator cuff tear from overuse, or a herniated disc in the lower back due to a heavy lifting. These injuries can cause pain, swelling, stiffness, and limited range of motion, and can make it difficult to perform daily activities.

Orthopedic injuries are often treated with physiotherapy. The goal of treatment is to reduce pain, improve function, and promote healing. A physiotherapist can help to diagnose and treat orthopedic injuries and provide guidance on how to prevent future injuries and improve overall health.

  • Great news! You don't need a referral to see one of our Physiotherapists. However, we do want to remind you that some insurance providers still require a medical note in order to reimburse you for the cost of your treatment. It's always a good idea to check with your insurance provider to find out what their specific requirements are.

  • If you're a familiar face to us and are continuing your journey to recovery from another clinic, schedule a regular follow-up appointment. But if it's been more than 4 months or you've got a new injury, then let's make sure to give it the extra attention it deserves and book a new assessment.

  • Some of our Physiotherapists offer a short assessment (45 mins) which is reserved for a quick check-in or a very recent/acute injury (within the last month). Most injuries are long lasting and more complex therefore require an extended assessment (60 mins). Not sure what to do? It's always better to be safe than sorry - an extended appointment will give you plenty of time to get assessed and start treatment.

  • Let's book you in for an extended assessment (60 mins) to evaluate your injury first and after things settle down, we will get you back to running. Once you are back running, we can book a short 30 min gait assessment.

  • Virtual physiotherapy, also known as telerehab, is a form of physiotherapy that is delivered remotely using technology such as video conferencing. Patients can receive a physiotherapy assessment or treatment from the comfort of their own home, without the need to travel to a clinic. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with mobility issues or those living in remote areas. Through virtual physiotherapy, we can diagnose and provide an individualized treatment plan. It is a great choice for exercise progressions, pain management or just a check-in. This service is offered for patients who live in Ontario.
